Now you can arrange your own Chocolate Pillow Hotel Review in a few simple steps.

Firstly, send an email to the Reviews Team via the Contact Us link on the site. You will need to include the following information:

Name of Hotel and Contact.

Location of Hotel

Current Hotel Rating

Type of Review Required (See Below)

A Standard Review consists of an online review, published underneath a full listing for your hotel. This Review includes a summarised report of the assessments and Chocolate Pillow certification to be displayed at your hotel.

An advanced review consists of a full online review, full assessments and detailed report based on the results of the review. This includes details on areas for improvement and analyses your marketing material and reservation practices. You will receive your Chocolate Pillow Certification plus ongoing support for 1 year from a dedicated account manager, on hand to help you with any issues.

A Consultancy Review consists of a full online review and hotel listing. This review is further enhanced by a customized review form and assessment template where you can choose what areas you wish us to focus on throughout the stay. We will also analyse marketing information, and behind the scenes processes for your Restaurant and Reception areas, with your own Chocolate Pillow Account Manager and a full debriefing meeting once the stay is completed to discuss the findings.

The Ultimate Review consists of a full online review and hotel listing. the review analyses every part of the hotel, from a guest and staff perspective over 2 days. We spend 1 day as a guest, undertaking a full assessment of the hotel from a guest perspective. The second day is spent with your staff in the various areas of the hotel, seeing how the departments work and what could be done to improve them. This is the ultimate in hotel consultancy packages as it encompasses the guest experience and the staff experience so you can really get to the bottom of how your hotel is doing.

Each review includes the following as standard:

  • Link to your booking site without any commission being charged

  • Front-page Position on the site for a minimum period of 1 week

  • Full review (conducted by 2 reviewers where possible, one a hotel professional, one an experienced traveller)

  • Chocolate Pillow Certification for display in your hotel.

  • Ability for guests to review your hotel on the chocolate pillow site using the same criteria sections as the Chocolate Pillow Review Teams

  • Full search Engine crawling of the site - your hotel review will be indexed by Search Engines worldwide

  • One dedicated point of contact from start to finish

  • A report detailing the findings of the review

 What we Expect 

Chocolate Pillow does have some pre-requisites for any review stay. These are detailed on the following tabs according to the type of condition.

All hotels that request a Chocolate Pillow Review are required to accept these criteria prior to the review being carried out.

Accommodation

Subsistence is required for all Accommodation whilst conducting a review. Where possible, accommodation is required to be provided in a double bedded en-suite room on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis, free of charge.

Travel

Travel expenses are required to be paid at the below minimums:

For travel by car:

  • Charge of 50p per mile
  • Full cost of car hire (should the need arise)


For travel by train/flight:

  • Full reimbursement of ticket cost

 

Please note that the cheapest of all above options will be preferred in all cases, where accessible. In the case of remote locations, where car hire is required, the cost will be the full car hire cost, however where petrol is included in the hire cost, per mile charges will not be raised for the first tank of petrol.

Expenses

It is expected that services used within the hotel be provided free of charge throughout the stay.

It is generally acceptable for credit limits to be imposed and these will be agreed prior to arrival. This will only cover expenses incurred whilst in the course of undertaking the review.

Any external expenses that are incurred as a direct result of undertaking the review are to be reimbursed by the hotel. Such expenses are to be claimed with receipts prior to departure from the hotel however these external expenses are to be avoided where possible.
